If there is a token though, it uses the post ID to send us to the original short URL that WordPress would have used it we didn’t change it. Like I mentioned earlier: even if you have permalinks working on your domain, the default link style will always work because it refers to a post ID. That last section is probably not necessary because there’s no way any user should be able to get out of the if-else block, but I didn’t think it hurt to leave it in.
