When I woke this morning I was greeted by a feed reader full of mostly “bad” reviews for Transformers 2. I’m not seeing it until tonight, but I have doubts that I’ll class it as “bad” once I’ve seen it. Why? I hear you ask. Well because unlike the “professional movie reviewers”, who I suspect go into every movie expecting to see the next ‘Schindler’s List’ only to discover the next ‘Police Academy 7′, I’m not searching for an enthralling storyline, or a thrilling plot. I just want to see big shiny robots blowing shit up. And that’s what Michael Bay is good at. I see no problems. Roll out.
See, I’m with you Dean. Shiny robots blowing stuff up. Let us all know what you think after you see it!
I unfortunately agree with the critics, but not because the plot sucks or the actors aren’t first class. The movie as a Sci-fi action movie is good, keeps the pace and there are shiny robots blowing tons of shit up.
But there is another side of it — the lack of mystery that was in the first part, some ridiculous robots that have been featured (and mostly the way they’ve been presented). I was raised with Transformers and I am a huge fan of the series, so I bet that’s the reason I didn’t like the second part as much as I loved the first one.
I can’t give any examples of stupidity in robot presentation, plot, characters nor the movie overall ’cause it’s fresh and spoilers are BAAAAD but well — If you’re a fan of Transformers you will be dissapointed no matter how great the movie looks and how much shit is blown to pieces.
