DVDs and piracy

I just want to watch my Sherlock Holmes DVD, but instead I’ve had to sit through 8 minutes (and counting) of movie trailers (that I don’t seem to be able to skip), and a stupid message about the piracy of Australian films hurting the future of the Australian film industry. Seriously? No one pirates Australian movies, they pirate movies people actually want to see. Is it any wonder people pirate things when they get forced to sit through crappy messages and crappier trailers even after paying for the DVD (although I didn’t actually pay for this DVD, it was a birthday present). Oh look, the DVD is finished being an ass and is ready for me to watch it now. How generous of it.

  1. I couldn’t agree more with this post. Buy a DVD and get accused of being a pirate.

  2. The world has changed. They haven’t. They will. Eventually.
